Mechanic + Customer Relationships = Bigger Opportunity

FleetPride is looking for a Diesel Technician I to join our growing service team in Fort Wayne, IN. This is more than a traditional technician opportunity. We are looking for a skilled mechanic or technician who understands heavy-duty truck and trailer repair and knows how to build relationships with customers and fleets. If you have a strong mechanical background, enjoy working directly with customers, and have established relationships or a book of business that you can bring to a service department, we want to talk to you!

WHAT MAKES THIS OPPORTUNITY DIFFERENT?
We are looking for someone who can grow with our service department.
The right person will bring strong technical skills while also helping develop customer relationships and service opportunities. Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and the value of the business you can bring to the service department.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and inspections.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, air, brake, suspension, steering, and other truck/trailer systems.

  • Identify additional repair and maintenance needs and communicate recommendations to customers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with fleet customers and owner-operators.
  • Help identify opportunities to bring additional service business into the shop.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, technicians, and service leadership.
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company and federal safety and service standards.

WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
  • Heavy-duty diesel/truck or trailer repair experience.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently while being part of a team.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Professional, dependable, and motivated attitude.
  • Ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
  • Existing relationships with fleets, owner-operators, or other commercial customers is a strong plus.
  • A proven book of business or ability to generate service opportunities is highly valued.
  • Own hand tools and air tools.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • CDL is a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs.

THIS COULD BE THE RIGHT FIT IF YOU ARE:
  • A diesel technician who has always been good at working with customers.
  • A mobile mechanic who has developed your own customer relationships.
  • A shop technician with strong fleet connections.
  • A lead technician or shop foreman ready for more responsibility.
  • A mechanic who wants to grow into a more customer-facing role.
  • Someone who understands that great service is about more than fixing the truck — it's about earning the customer's trust and keeping their business.

WHAT WE OFFER:

  • 401(k) Match – Day One.
  • Life Insurance – Day One.
