Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Service Manager to lead service operations in Chattanooga, TN. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Service Center, including P&L performance, team leadership, workflow management, and customer satisfaction.
The Service Manager will drive operational efficiency while ensuring the team meets or exceeds EBITDA, sales, and inventory goals, all while delivering a high level of customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all service functions and operations within the Service Center.
- Delegate tasks and manage workflow across all active and pending work orders.
- Monitor productivity, efficiency, and overall shop performance.
- Ensure high-quality customer service by providing expertise and resolving concerns.
- Manage P&L performance, costs, and assets to meet financial targets.
- Review and approve work orders and invoices for accuracy and timeliness.
- Implement quality control processes on completed work and billing.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors, dealers, and subcontractors.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and compliant work environment.
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members to drive performance and engagement.
- Train new employees on company procedures, safety, and workflows.
- Stay current on industry trends, tools, and best practices.
- Provide regular reporting on service center performance to leadership.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Proven experience managing service operations and delivering strong customer service.
- Ability to manage P&L and track productivity metrics.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to perform well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Heavy-duty diesel mechanic background preferred.
Work Environment:
This role operates in a mix of indoor and outdoor environments with varying temperatures. Exposure to vehicle noise, dust, vibration, and minimal chemical hazards should be expected.
